For a Newborn

The arrival of a baby is quiet. Your wrapping should be too.

Materials: Cream or oatmeal-colored tissue, natural cotton ribbon (thin, matte, not shiny satin), a sprig of dried eucalyptus or lavender tucked into the bow.

The finish: A small handwritten card, just the baby's name, nothing more. Let the gift carry the rest.

Presentation: If the gift is a swaddle or blanket, consider folding it loosely into a shallow basket or wooden tray instead of wrapping — it becomes part of the nursery from day one.

For a Baby Shower

A shower gift is as much about the mother as the baby. Lean into warmth, texture, and a touch of celebration.

Materials: Ribbed kraft paper or a natural linen wrap, cotton ribbon in a single soft color (sage, terracotta, dusty blue), a small pressed flower tucked under the bow.

The finish: A note written to the mother, not the baby. Something like "For all the small, soft days ahead" — short and felt.
